Trusted and Experienced Kennel Services

Wyolina Kennels is located on a farm with lots of acreage that lets your pet get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is easily accessible from surrounding areas. Our furry friends can romp and play in large grassy fenced-in exercise yards in the fresh country air. An in-ground swimming pool and nature walks are also available.

Accommodations are climate-controlled and include large indoor/outdoor runs, inside runs, and an ESP (extra special pampering room). The ESP room is designed for smaller, shy, senior, or special needs guests. Our cat guests have a room to themselves with an area they can get out and play with toys and climbing structures.

More About Us

We know being away from your pet can be stressful. We pride ourselves on being your pet's "Home Away From Home" with all of the luxuries of a Pet Vacation your furry friend deserves!

What really sets us apart is how friendly and knowledgeable our staff is with pets and their needs. Our owner, Nancy Thomas, is a Certified Veterinary Technician, Behavior Trainer, and pretty much a Certified Dog Nut. Not only is Nancy knowledgeable in their health and behavior, but she is also friends with all the critters.

We always pamper and spoil our guests as if they were on vacation and try to follow their normal daily routine to keep their stress levels as low as possible. It doesn't take long to learn the routine and start having fun.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What vaccinations do you require?

We require all dogs to be vaccinated against Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper/Parvo.

All cats are required to be vaccinated against Rabies and Distemper.  We recommend Feline Leukemia as well, but not required.

We can not accept self administered vaccinations.  Proof of vaccinations by a licensed veterinarian is required upon arrival.

  • Do you require the Bordetella vaccine every six months?

We require the Bordetella vaccine every 12 months, but every six months may provide additional protection for your pet. It is up to you and your veterinarian’s discretion. Please keep in mind that even with the Bordetella vaccination, there is still a slight risk of contracting a mutated strain of this virus.

  • Can I visit your facility before I bring my pet?

Absolutely! We’d love to have you visit Wyolina Kennels before your pet comes to stay with us. It’ll help put your mind at ease to see where your pet will be staying and also help you familiarize yourself with our facility.

Please call to schedule a tour with us!

As of right now, we are only doing tours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

  • What do I need to bring?

Feel free to bring a small blanket, t-shirt, or pillowcase that reminds your pet of home.  We have plenty of beds, cots, and thick blankets to keep all of our fur babies cozy and warm. You can bring your pet's favorite toys.

We do not give rawhide bones/chewies since we do not watch them 24/7.

We recommend you bring your pet's food/treats to avoid any upset stomach.

Please keep the number of personal items to a maximum of 4 per family.   Everything must be labeled with the dog's name (food bin, scoop, blanket, toys, etc.)

We do not take beds - we have cots/beds we can provide.

  • Can I call and check to see how my pet is doing?

Sure! We are happy to hear from owners and to report on how their pet is enjoying their stay. No news from us is good news!

  • Dose my dog need to be spayed/ neutered to board?

No, your dog does not need to be spayed/neutered to come and stay with us! They won't be able to play with other dogs if you're wanting to do daycare, but they will get lots of love and playtime from human friends!

  • What if my dog doesn’t get along with other dogs?

No worries! Here at Wyolina Kennels, it is not a requirement that our boarders go out with other dogs. Your dog will get to enjoy our huge fenced-in play areas all to themselves!  We also offer Day Boarding for dogs that don't get along with other dogs, but still need some energy burned off. Drop off and pick up same day.

  • What is a typical boarding day like?

With the boarding charges, your dog will get to use the yards to go to the bathroom two times per day. Dogs that are over 8 years old will get out three times per day. They are out each time for about 25 minutes and are always supervised by a human.  You may add on additional time outside, swim time, or daycare.

We are closed to the public on Sundays but that doesn't mean our staff isn't here!

Your babies will still get out to use the potty and play on Sundays.

  • Why did my dog get diarrhea when he/she was there?

Sometimes being kenneled can be stressful for a dog. He/she is in an unfamiliar place, surrounded by barking dogs and unfamiliar smells and noises. “Stress” diarrhea can be a factor for some dogs, or your dog may have had a dietary change while boarded. To help eliminate as many factors as possible, we recommend that you bring your pet’s own food from home. Don’t worry, it won’t take long for your dog to become familiar with their new routine!

  • I have two or more dogs. Can they stay together?

Yes, we can board your pets together in the same run if the space open allows for multiple dogs (keeping with safety and comfort protocols).  If they have to be fed separately, please let us know at the time of making the reservation.  Dogs that do not board and feed together do not receive the multi-pet discount or Family Suite Rate.

  • Is your facility temperature controlled?

Yes, we have both heat and air to keep your loved one comfortable

  • Can I bring food/medicine that needs refrigeration?

Yes, we have a refrigerator and a microwave to use as needed.

  • Will you be able to administer medications for my dog? Do you charge extra for administering medications?

Yes, we are able to administer medications prescribed by your vet, which also may include fish oils, joint supplements, etc. All medications must be labeled with the animal’s name and the name of the medicine.

We also can administer injectible medications such as insulin.

There is a small fee for administering medications.

  • I noticed that my dog is especially tired after boarding. Is this normal?

Yes.  A stay at Wyolina Kennels can be very exciting!! Some dogs run around outside, barking at other dogs, the alpacas, or the wind, and they have a wonderful time doing it! They often leave exhausted but happy----and may sleep a lot the first couple days they are home.
